Mono Grid

Read the gaps. Protect the tyres. Make the pit call.

Mono Grid is a compact offline motorsport strategy game where you manage the race, not the car.

You act as race control for a two-car team. Read gaps, manage tyre risk, decide when to push, save, or pit, and react to changing race conditions sector by sector.

Each race is short, tactical, and self-contained. After the finish, you can review the result through a Race Telegram — a local post-race report that turns each run into a small archive object.

Current Playtest Build

v0.70B — Two Tracks + Intentional No-BGM Audio Pass

Recommended first run:

MIRA LOOP / Sprint 5L / Relaxed

For a more demanding strategy session:

OMEGA COMPLEX / Sprint 5L or Standard 8L / Standard

Current Scope

- Two fictional motorsport circuits

- MIRA LOOP — a balanced first-race circuit

- OMEGA COMPLEX — a high-degradation technical circuit

- Two managed team cars

- Sector-by-sector strategy decisions

- Push / Normal / Save / Pit commands

- Track-specific tyre risk and pit-window management

- Race result card

- Local Race Telegram archive

- Local Telegram shred / archive management

- Minimal interface audio

- Optional room ambience

- No continuous background music

Design Intent

Mono Grid is offline, compact, replayable, and deliberately avoids online leaderboards, daily chores, monetization pressure, licensed teams, and live-service mechanics.

It is closer to a quiet race-control desk, a tactical timing monitor, or a compact strategy toy than a conventional racing game.

Mono Grid intentionally has no continuous background music. Instead, the audio design focuses on tactile interface feedback, warning beeps, sector ticks, Race Telegram printer sounds, and quiet control-room ambience.

Known Limitations

- This is a playtest build, not a final release.

- Current build is for Windows and designed around 1280×720.

- No installation is required: download the ZIP, extract the folder, and run the executable.

- Race Telegrams are saved locally on the player's own computer.

- Some systems are intentionally compact and still being tested.

- The Windows executable is unsigned, so SmartScreen may show a warning on first launch.

Feedback Wanted

After playing, I am especially interested in:

- Did you understand that you manage the race, not the car?

- Were Push / Normal / Save / Pit clear?

- Did MIRA LOOP feel approachable as a first race?

- Did OMEGA COMPLEX feel meaningfully different from MIRA LOOP?

- Did tyre wear and pit timing feel readable?

- Did the Race Log explain what happened?

- Did the minimal interface audio feel helpful without being distracting?

- Did the absence of continuous background music feel intentional?

- Did you want to play a second race?

- Did the Race Telegram feel worth saving?

- Was the Telegram Archive / SHRED flow clear?
